Restriction of the composition, cropping of the human form, adding constraints to the image; these elements are the basis for this series of work.
Focussing on, and examining a limited area of the human figure- much like a surgeon would. Rather than considering it in its entirety I have aimed to capture instances of motion and gesture which construct curious shapes and perspectives of the body- with purpose and attention to produce fleshy, animal-like positions, painted in an awkward manner.
